Centerville Theatre Parents

The community response to the outstanding work of the students involved in theatre at Centerville High School has resulted in tremendous growth of the program over the last few years. The Centerville Theatre Parents (CTP) was formed to help meet the challenges of rapid growth and exists to support the CHS Theatre Department.

We would love for you to be involved!

CTP and the CHS Theatre staff have identified many ways for parents and families to be involved. Please read about the many different areas that the CTP supports. We welcome everyone and any level of commitment that you can provide – try out one of the areas and we believe you’ll find the experience extremely rewarding: in short, we think you’ll be hooked!

  • that the CHS theatre group is completely self-supporting?
  • that the group receives no money from the school to put on performances or pay for any of the props, costumes, sets, lighting or the myriad of other items necessary to bring to life the excellent productions each year?
  • that 100% of the funds come from ticket sales and donations?
  • that the acquisition of equipment and needed supplies relies heavily on donations to the program or fund raising efforts?

Instead of asking your student to sell candy bars or wrapping paper, we are hoping that parents will lend support by either providing a donation or volunteering for one of the many committees that it takes to make the theatre production year a success.

Additionally, we are preparing a “wish list” for the theatre program. We hope to help the staff, cast and crew develop their inventory of equipment and other specialized items. This will allow CHS Theatre to continue to raise the bar even higher. Please consider a one-time or annual donation to the group – you can be assured every dollar generously donated will be put toward improving the high quality theatre you’ve come to expect. Please check with your tax adviser to see if your donation is tax deductible.

You can also advertise in performance programs – place an ad for your business or simply give well-deserved recognition to your child. A quarter-page ad for one production only costs thirty dollars (ninety dollars for the entire season of four shows). Last year’s program for 42nd Street was seen by over 2700 people– a real bargain in the world of advertising!

We sincerely appreciate any support – time or monetary - that you can provide and we are looking forward to talking with you. Feel free to call or email anyone listed on the Volunteer Opportunities page. Or submit an email via the Contact Page.

Please get involved in a fantastic program which truly promotes excellence in high school theatre!
