Winter/Spring 2013 Productions

You Can't Take It With You
Sweeney Todd

Auditions for both You Can’t Take It With You and Sweeney Todd will take place December 3-5, 2012.

A week prior to this, students can sign up for an audition time outside of the dance studio, C190.
Students should prepare up to one minute of a dramatic or ballad musical theatre piece. Students should avoid comedy, up tempo, or pop styles.
There will also be sides (excerpts) from You Can’t Take It With You and Sweeney Todd distributed the week before. Students will be asked to read one or two of those with a partner at the audition. Mr. Beumer will choose what they read and who they read it with.
Students will also do a one hour movement audition with Mrs. Redmond.

Questions? All interested students should plan to attend a one hour meeting on Monday, November 26, 2012. Mr. Beumer will go over the audition process.

Meeting

An informational meeting will be held in the PAC atrium immediately after school, date tbd.
If a student is unable to attend, they should talk with Mr. Beumer in advance.

Dates

Auditions will be held after school on May 29 and May 30, 2012.
Auditions take place in C198, the dance studio.
Callbacks will be held on May 31 and June 1, 2012.

Preparation

To audition, students should

sign up on the bulletin board outside of the dance studio, C198.
prepare a one minute dramatic monologue.
prepare 16-32 bars from a contemporary musical theatre song.
bring sheet music for the accompanist (provided). Students are not allowed to sing to a CD or a cappella.
wear comfortable clothing appropriate for moving and dancing.
bring the three required forms, completed and signed.
