Thank you to everyone who auditioned to be a part of the cast of Arsenic and Old Lace, and congratulations to the cast, which is posted below.
CHS Theatre has two more audition opportunities ahead this year. Auditions for The Great Gatsbywill be just after Thanksgiving, and audition information will be available starting at the November STAGE club meeting. Auditions for Mamma Mia!will be at the end of January, and audition information will be available starting at the January STAGE club meeting. Each show has different needs, so if you are not a part of this cast, we encourage you to audition again in the future! Theatre is always looking for enthusiastic, creative, hard-working people! We would also love to see you at set build, at costuming, at STAGE club meetings, or in the audience!
Because we are creating theatre in an educational setting, some students may wish to meet to get feedback about their work at auditions and/or callbacks. I am happy to share my observations, and I make this available to students only so that they may take ownership of their growth. I ask that you respect the time it takes to get a show started by waiting until after the first week of rehearsals has finished before reaching out to schedule a time to meet. I also encourage you to take time to process any emotions connected to seeing the cast list so that you may be open-minded when we meet. For ideas about dealing with rejection in theatre, please take a look at these notes or this article.
Thank you again for all of your hard work this week! Mr. Hamen
CAST REMINDERS Schedule: We begin with our read-through after school on Monday in the Central Theatre. You will receive a copy of the schedule that includes a detailed breakdown of our tasks then. Until then, refer to the tentative schedule posted with the audition information for dates/times.
Costume measurements: Your costumers will join us on Monday to get your measurements. Please make sure whatever you are wearing that day makes it easy to get accurate measurements, or considering layering a t-shirt under bulky items like hoodies or sweatshirts.
