WHAT IS SET BUILD? No experience needed! You'll learn the skills you need to build and paint the set for a show by working in teams that are guided by an experienced student and our scenic designer. You'll get lots of practice using different tools and techniques as you build your skills. WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? Wear clothes you don't mind getting paint or sawdust on. Wear closed-toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals). All tools and supplies (and snacks!) are provided.
WHERE DO I GO? Set build happens in the scene shop (C199), which is next to the Performing Arts Center stage. The easiest way to get there is to take the world language hallway that is across from the South Unit office. Go through the brown double doors and down the ramp. If you're coming from the music hallway, turn left when you get to the ramp and take the back hallway across.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED? 1. Take a look at the calendar to see when we're working. It's a flexible schedule, so come when you're free. 2. Fill out the COMPANY/PERMISSION FORM (this includes parent permission). Copies are available outside the scene shop. 3. Show up! We'll match you with a team to get started.
