PARENT/GUARDIAN VOLUNTEERS
We have many opportunities for parents/guardians, grandparents, and other adults to support CHS Theatre. Most do not involve working directly with the students as we limit adult participation so that students can take a more active role in the leading and managing of the process. “Just let me do it” tends to creep in when we have adults involved. Instead, we ask for adults to help with support operations such as ticketing, publicity, meals and snacks, and office help. We can’t continue the quality of the program without you and will gladly take your help!
VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP ROLES
We depend on adult volunteers to manage our volunteer groups. We greatly appreciate these extra commitments that keep everything flowing smoothly!

- Poster/Advertising team coordinator:
- Collects printed posters from CHS and divides them among team members to hang in community locations.
- Maintains connections to local businesses and organizations who promote our shows by purchasing ads and hanging posters.
- Submits ad files to the playbill designer.
- Meal coordinator:
- Arranges group meals (carry-in style) for load-in nights (4 per year) and lunch on in-school performance days (2 per year)
- Coordinates other volunteers for sign-up, set-up, and clean-up
- Flower/Souvenir sales:
- Manage items sold at the flower/souvenir stand on show nights.
- Coordinate other volunteers to help run the stand on show nights.
- Chaperone at State Conference:
- Register for and attend the Ohio Thespian State Conference (Friday-Sunday),where you may also enjoy a wide array of shows and workshops)
- Assist with attendance/headcounts, reminders, and as-needed tasks, like checking in at the hotel or picking up pizza.
- Serve as the contact person for a set of student rooms at the hotel.
VOLUNTEER ROLES
- Poster team: Distribute a set of 10-15 posters to pre-determined locations in our community.
- Meal donor: Contribute entrees, sides, or desserts to group meal nights.
- Meal worker: Assist with set-up, serving, and clean-up.
- Flower/souvenir stand sales
- Parking: Occasionally a PAC event overlaps with another at CHS and we need adults to direct show traffic to our lots.
- Office work: Having extra hands to assist with phone calls and set-up during show weeks can help take tasks off our plates.
- Box office/ushers: Sell tickets, take tickets, or assist audience members with finding seats.
- Strike: After a long final week of rehearsal and performances, having helps around as we take down the set makes everything go faster.
